BOARD MEMBERS
Hardy Black has been a local community leader in the High Desert for the past 50 years. Mr. Black began his career as an educator in the Hesperia Unified School District, serving for 38 years in various teaching positions and leadership roles. In 2006, Mr. Black was elected to the Hesperia Unified School Board, where over the course of eight years he served as clerk, vice president, and president of the board. In 2012, Mr. Black was appointed the Desert Trails Preparatory Academy board where he currently holds the position of President. Mr. Black obtained a Master’s degree in Counseling from California State University, San Bernardino. He has been an active member in his church for over 50 years and has provided the same years of service to the Boy Scouts of America and Little League sports.
Ron Griffin is a speaker, consultant and social entrepreneur dedicated to creating innovative solutions to some of society’s most difficult challenges. He has managed successful education, family self-sufficiency and community development programs for the past 15 years. Mr. Griffin has created state and national award-winning projects serving thousands of at-risk clients including children and families in poverty, foster children, and individuals in the prison system. He holds a Master’s degree in Behavioral Science, with a specialization in Conflict Resolution and Negotiation.
Dr. R Paul Earle, “Pastor Paul”, is the founding and lead pastor of the Life Church in Victorville CA and has served in ministry locally and internationally since 1995. Through Life Impact outreach ministries, he has served the schools of Adelanto since 2009 in various forms. This includes such activities as an annual community backpack drive, sponsoring best teacher awards, and hosting Back-to-School night events that provide health physicals to children, to name a few.
Dr. Earle began his career in marketing management before dedicating his life to Christ and serving in ministry and community development. He owns and operates Shiloh Medical Center, family practice clinics with his wife, Charmaine Earle MD. He is also an adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management, a Master’s Degree in Leadership, and recently completed his Doctorate at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena CA.
Dr Earle is committed to the children of our city and believes that more of our kids can be hope-inspired and motivated towards greater personal and career development. He is excited to be part of Desert Trails Preparatory School team and participate in the continuing progress here.
Marnella Mayberry has demonstrated dedication to the area of education for over 50 years. She began her career in West Virginia serving as a Teaching Assistant, Secretary, Reading Coach, and Head Start Teacher. Ms. Mayberry ventured into corporate America as she worked as a Legal Department Assistant for Montgomery Ward and a Credentialing Department Associate for Pacific Care of California. But education has always been in Ms. Mayberry’s heart. She returned to teaching as a Reading Program Assistant.
